The Williamson’s involvement in the Australian Beef industry goes back over 100 years to the late R.B Williamson who came to Western Australia in 1904 purchasing a property in Dale river. Reginald was a member of the Australian meat board from its inception in 1935 and retiring in 1955. He played a key role in the international promotion of Australian meat in Britain and America. The line of work was then continued by Neil Williamson son of Reginald who held key positions with in the Australian livestock industry including State livestock manager of Elders from 1970-1983. Further continuing in the family tradition Craig the eldest son of Neil joined the Elders contingency in 1978. Craig has held several key livestock and export orientated roles throughout Western Australia for both Wesfarmers and Elders.

The current generation of Williamson’s Rhys and James have come together with the L28 team to combine their vast Asian focused international marketing expertise with their long-standing family livestock heritage. Boarding school friends of the Morton Brothers the formalisation of the L28 brand has come a long way from an idea to its inception.

Similarly, the Morton family has had a long-standing meat and livestock heritage. William Morton was one of the original farming settlers to open up the Lake Grace farming district of Western Australia. Continuing the Morton’s family’s involvement with in the Australian Livestock industry Noel Morton also held key livestock roles with Elders. The Morton’s are a naturally gifted sporting family with Noel watching not one but three of his boys reach the competitive pinnacles of the AFL, with Jarryd returning home after his sporting career to run the family meat export business.
